Bournemouth West MP Conor Burns has welcomed a thumping £19.9 million boost to our local seafront.
He has been lobbying Ministers to ensure we get our fair share of Levelling Up funding from Government. Confirming the cash boost the Government said, “The transformational Bournemouth and Poole seafront Coastal Communities Infrastructure project will deliver rehabilitation of derelict and decaying facilities, new 5G ready digital promenade and power infrastructure unlocking commercial investment in seasonal beach-based leisure.”
Local projects include the Alum Chine Cloister, vital repair work to safeguard Bournemouth Pier and the Bournemouth Lifeguard Community Sports Hub. Conor said, “Our seafront is the hook on which the local tourism industry hangs.
"I have consistently fought for support from Government to help us remain an attractive destination for visitors and residents alike. This huge boost comes on top of the three successful rounds of Coastal Communities funding we have already secured and will deliver visible improvements to our area.”
