Conor caught up recently with Lord Eden, who served as the Member of Parliament for Bournemouth West from 1954 – 1983. Lord Eden then sat in the House of Lords from 1983 – 2015, when he chose to retire.
During his Parliamentary career Lord Eden was Minister of State for Trade, Minister of State for Posts and Telecommunications, Member of the House of Commons Expenditure Committee, Chairman of the Select Committee on EEC Legislation and Chairman of the Select Committee on Home Affairs.
