In 2021, we successfully lobbied Government for over £500,000 to repair heating and air conditioning. With the same fund now open for another round of bidding, Government support is essential to secure the structural integrity of this 100-year-old building for the next century.
This week, I spoke to the Museums Minister Lord Parkinson to ensure he understood both the necessity and urgency of the repair work needed.
I will keep making that case - footfall numbers last year show the Russell-Cotes Museum is as popular as ever. We should do all we can to maintain such an asset for Bournemouth for future generations.
