Conor paid a visit to Faithworks Wessex, the homeless and food bank charity, meeting with Alistair Doxat-Purser their CEO at the Half Time facility run with the YMCA on Westover Road. Alister and Conor discussed the problem of homelessness and Alister gave Conor an update on what Fathworks Wessex was doing to tackle the problem in the town and how working with other organisations and charities they are turning hope into action. The charity have installed a number of contactless donation points across the conurbation an easy way for people to donate and offer the best support to help get people off the streets.
Conor also visited The Doorstop Shop at St Mike’s Church Bournemouth where he met with Rob, the Commercial and Training Coordinator. Rob explained that the shop sells pre-loved and handmade high-quality wooden gifts including some made or up-cycled in the carpenter’s workshop by former homeless people.”
