Branksome Triangle - as it's known locally - in Poole is the site identified by BCP Council to host a permanent 'settled gypsy and traveller community location'.
Many of you got in touch with me to share with me your very strong views on this. Having read every response I've received, I have submitted the below formal reply to the BCP Council consultation.
BCP Council is now collating responses. The Council will publish the feedback received on its website by the end of June. It has the opportunity to make amendments or to consult further before submitting its final Draft to the Planning Inspectorate for examination. I have received an assurance from the Chief Executive of BCP Council that my letter will be passed to the independent Examiner for consideration, as will the responses submitted directly by constituents, if this proposal remains unchanged. The proposal must then be approved by the independent Examiner before the Local Plan in its entirety can be adopted by the Council.
As this process develops, I will endeavour to update constituents through social media and my regular newsletter. I look to BCP Council to ensure that it has considered all possible options and given sufficient consideration to the interests of local residents before moving forward.
